:: scriptease
at lcp ::
submitted by liz
banset (LBanset@lincolnplayhouse.com)
LCP's July Scriptease features
a reading of HOSPITALITY SUITE by Roger
Rueff, to be presented at 7 PM on July 21 in the Gallery Theatre.
The play premiered at the
South Coast Repertory Theatre, gaining the
attention of Kevin Spacey who produced and starred in the movie version, The
Big Kahuna.
Directed by Jeremy Kendall,
this Mamet-esque dramedy is a character study
of the movers and shakers in the industrial-lubricant biz. Three salesmen
for Lodestar Laboratories are operating a hospitality suite on the top floor
of a hotel at a convention in Wichita. Their goal is to land a contract with
the Big Kahuna" by hosting a late-night liquor-and-hors d'oeuvres
debauch
that, with luck, will score them points back at the home office. But as the
evening wears on, it becomes clear that each man has his own agenda.
Admission is free,
refreshments are free,
and the entertainment is first-rate.
Oh, and the company is pretty good too. :-)
:: midnite: reggae at the grove ::
i love the vibe at reggae
shows.
it's got to be the least uptight crowds you'll ever see.
you can relax and be yourself,
and no one will give you grief or look at you funny
if you decide you just want to dance, by yourself, on the dance floor.
i *love* that!
my friend carter has brought
a lot of sweet reggae to this town.
and he's done it again.
two sunday's from now,
midnite will bring their lyrical brand of reggae to the royal grove.
i *know* i'll be there. and i hope to see you too.
tickets are $12.00 at the door and $10.00 with a coupon
available from Zero Street Records or the Royal Grove.
for more info see carter's press release:

twenty years from now you
will be more disappointed by
the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
so throw off the bowlines. sail away from the safe harbor.
catch the trade winds in your sails. explore. dream. discover.
