:: desperately seeking stars ::
Judy at the Douglas Theatre Company is still seeking actors to impersonate movie stars of the 1950s at the Academy Awards Party on March 23 at the Rococo. Proceeds from this event support the Make A Wish Foundation.
Six to eight "stars"
are needed from 6 to 9 PM, to mingle with guests, pose for photos and simply
have fun. Douglas Theatres will pay for costume rental, if necessary. Here's
what else you get for "playing":
-- Movie passes to any Douglas Theatre in Lincoln or Omaha
-- A free gift bag containing movie memorabilia
-- A free meal
-- A chance to participate in all the evening's entertainment activities, including
a drawing for a trip to Hollywood and a Douglas Theatre season pass.
If you do a passable impersonation of a big screen star of the 50s, call Judy at the Douglas Theatre Company, 474-4909, as soon as possible for more information.
:: big
brothers/sisters bowl-a-thon ::
from tom crew (tcrew@alltel.net)
Hello All you Good People!
It's that time of year again when your humble servant, Tom Crew, tries to beg
for your help again for this year's:
17th Annual Bowl For Kids' Sake. To benefit Heartland Big Brothers Big Sisters'
children.
We had a good year last year and are hoping to raise $100,000 this year. This
is our major fundraising event.
When is the event, you ask?- Why, Saturday April 5th at Hollywood Bowl and Parkway
Lanes!
How can I help, you ponder?- I'm so glad you asked! There are 4 ways you could
help, and they are.......
1. Form a team of 5 players (call me for details)
2. Bowl on one of my teams (just raise $75)
3. Have your company become a Lane Sponsor
4. Or..... If this seems like a lot, you can just simply PLEDGE me!!!!!! I will
take any pledge with a bright and happy smile!!!!
My personal goal is to raise $1,250 on my personal pledge sheet. I have $475
so far and only one more month to go. So pppleeeease! (Sorry for the begging).
Any level of support would be great. Please check out our website to find out
more about what Heartland Big Brothers Big Sisters is all about and what we
do in this great community of ours.- www.hbbbs.org.
Thanks in advance my friends and have a great day!
Tom.

late night catechism ::
Rollicking hit comedy "Late Nite Catechism" to transport Lied audiences back to their childhood
24 performances from March
4th through 23rd
at the Lied Center's Johnny Carson Theater
Don't slouch or fidget in
Sister's "Late Nite Catechism" class or she'll be on a mission to
reform your behavior! Not Catholic? "Late Nite Catechism" will take
you on a comical journey that appeals to all with its mix of stand-up and improv.
Catholic? This interactive theatrical experience will take you back to the child
you once were. Be warned, the audience make up the "students" in the
class and Sister's personality can shift from benevolent instructor (who rewards
her students with glow-in-the-dark rosaries) to intimidating drill sergeant.
But the laughs never stop in the joyous and respectful look at Catholic school
days of the past.
Tickets: $35 (half price for students/youth)
Seating is limited for Late Nite Catechism - get your tickets now!
