Hamlet at the Haymarket

we had a great opening weekend and i'm so thrilled to be in this show. while i'm not on stage much, i'm really enjoying this production. i'm at a loss for the words to adequately express how good these guys are. jeremy brings humor and intensity to the title role. he's just a treat to watch. and, of course, my father (david landis) and virginia smith are the consummate king and queen. the supporting player all add color and variety to the show that keeps it moving forward.

the main resistance to shakespeare is that it's hard to understand. well, forget that.
bob hall has coached the actors to speak the words meaning rather than 'act.'
the result is an empassioned tale of betrayal, love, love lost, deception, politics and death.

this is a fantastic production of hamlet. if you like shakespeare, don't miss this.
if you're new to shakespeare, consider this show shakespeare 101.

Hamlet Cabaret

Unmasked, de-frocked, but not necessarily unplugged.
The fantastically talented cast members of Hamlet will be performing
a cabaret show after the play on Friday, April 11, only!
We'll probably be in the bar at the Haymarket Theater
and start about 10 pm. We're asking for a couple of bucks
to pay for the staff and space.

There will be singing, standup, dramatic interpretations
and who knows what else.

This is going to be so much fun, I can't wait!!
Show up early for a good table, grab a beverage and sit back.
The play may be the thing, but the cabaret is where it's at.

April 5: Festival and Rally for Peace in Iraq
Who: Nebraska Coalition for Peace (concerned individuals, churches and organizations)
Where: Antelope Park (Normal and A streets) in Lincoln, Nebraska
When: Saturday April 5th, 2003 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Dear watchful citizen:
The bombs have begun to fall and the Midwest has not checked its First Amendment rights at the door. We will not be silent in the face of this international catastrophe. Concerned citizens, churches and organizations are even more opposed to the war in Iraq as the destruction is now before our very eyes.

The Nebraska Coalition for Peace has planned a Festival for Peace in Iraq to be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5th, 2003 at Antelope Park (people will congregate near the Antelope Park Band Shell on Normal and A street) in Lincoln, Nebraska. The festival promises to deliver great speakers (ranging from a Desert Storm Veteran to religious leaders, and students), musicians, poets, artists, discussion groups, informational booths, community building events and more in an EVERYONE IS WELCOME atmosphere. Midwesterners will come together in peace and try to make sense of nonsense in order to plan for a peaceful future.

Bring the kids, your friends and family out to the park for a day of education, dialogue and community building!

For questions, to help in the planning, to have a booth or to volunteer please contact The Nebraska Coalition for Peace
