On the footsteps of rave reviews and standing ovations of a state wide tour that began in May, TADA Productions will present the musical revue Side by Side by Sondheim at James Arthur Vineyards in Raymond Nebraska July 19 & 20! The production will be performed on a stage especially built for the show and the Meadowlark Music Festival. Seating begins at 6:30 pm with the show at 8:00 pm. Tickets are available by calling the winery at 783-5255, TADA Productions at 438-8232 or at the gate. Wine and picnic baskets are also available from 6:30-7:30 for an addition cost.

Side by Side by Sondheim is a celebration of the sophistication, wit, insight, heart and genius of one of Broadway's most innovative and influential artists, composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim. This dazzling array of some of Sondheim's best-known songs features numbers from landmark shows that revolutionized the musical theatre with their masterful craft and astounding creativity: "Company," "Follies," "A Little Night Music," "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum," "Anyone Can Whistle" and "Pacific Overtures," not to mention the classics written with musical theatre giants Leonard Bernstein, Jule Styne and Richard Rodgers, "West Side Story," "Gypsy," and "Do I Hear A Waltz?" Also included are delectable rarities from the television musical "Evening Primrose." Songs include such musical theatre gems as Send In The Clowns, Comedy Tonight, Broadway Baby, I'm Still Here and Losing My Mind.

Omaha Word-Herald critic Bob Fishbach had this to say about the production; "Here's a show that sings! Sparkling lyrics, precise staging and four highly trained voices make two hours sail by with barely time to come up for air with 30 numbers...Director Robert Rook and his wife, musical director Cris Rook, know how to sell this material with class...And the performers really are pros...Hats off to the Rooks, whose creative skills clearly power this tuneful treat. It's a sure winner for fans of Sondheim or of finesse in the staging of songs."

After more than 60 auditions, the cast of four talented actors were selected, They include Ryan Leigh Seaton, Cris Rook, David Claus and Scott Herr (read more about the cast & company on the bio sheet). The production is directed by Robert. D. Rook with Cris Rook serving as musical director and Julie Hinrichs as accompanist. Tom Curtright of Comprehensive Design Solutions will light and sound the production and Robert Wurth has designed scenic elements and video counter pieces. This show is produced in cooperation with MTI.

" The production was a solid winner..."
" ...it worked, in large part because of the crisp staging and remolded continuity from director Robert D. Rook. "
" David Claus, Scott Herr, Cris Rook and Ryan Leigh Seaton are the actors. Their stage magic together is the glue that makes the book work. They sang well together and they played off one another fabulously. "
