get the full weekend lineup on the august calendar!!
::
salomé - a night of obsession of biblical proportions! ::
this is the story of salomé who danced the dance of the seven veils for king herod in exchange for the head of john the baptist on a silver tray. suzanne evans mostafa is enchanting and mesmerizing as the title character. ward and keith are resplendent as the king and queen. as for me...well, again i'm relagated to playing an imprisioned and tortured biblical figure: john the baptist. and here i thought my loincloth and persecution days were over!
all that aside, one of the best things about this project will be spectacle created by paul pearson and the creative team who are putting together a wonderful set and tantalizing costumes. and the addition of the partygoers (see below for your chance to participate) will make this the event of the season!!
there are
2 ways to experience this unique event...
1) come see the show as a patron/ticket holder. the tickets are $10 available
from wyuka (474.3600) in advance or at the door.
2) participate in the show by taking part in the pre-show ritual/party (there
are already some wonderfully unique...um...'activities' planned), then grace
the stage or roof as 'partygoers.' you'll need to bring your own costume (your
basic toga) and a $15 donation (includes ticket) or equivalent in party supplies
(wine, glasses, grapes, etc...). please rsvp: matthew03@landisarts.com.
