The Angels Theatre Company presents
"The Afghan Women" by William Mastrosimone

The Afghan Women is a play about survival in Afghanistan. The story is the reality of the present and the hope for the future. It begins with a chorus of Afghan women searching the ground for the sellable remnants of war. Their search takes them to a bombed-out orphanage protected by an Afghan American doctor named Malalai. These women give us insight into the circumstances that bring them together. A powerful warlord named Hamood, also seeks refuge at the orphanage after a failed coup attempt against the Kabul government. Hamood and his fighters are being pursued by government forces as they retreat. Malalai is forced to defend herself and her charges. She does so with fierce determination and, surprisingly, poetry.
Don't miss this new play by Emmy & Peabody award winner William Mastrosimone.
