I'll bet many of the people on this list already know Vince Learned. If I were to start listing his accomplishments, I'd be writing all night. If I were to start listing his talents, I'd run out of synomyms for "fantastic, wonderful, amazing, kick-ass and supersweet." If I were to start listing all the reasons to go see Vince play and sing at the Del Ray Ballroom, my message would be so long it'd crash Internet Servers. What I'm trying to
say is that Vince is an immensely talented musician and a wonderful human
being. He's a great friend he's got a regular gig at the Del Ray Ballroom
on Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm. If a drink at a piano bar sounds like
a nice way to fill a portion of your evening, hit the Del Ray (8th &
R in the Haymarket) on Wednesdays from 6-8pm. |

Laniece Micek and her band of merry men have accumulated a bit of a following in this town. The guys are a formidable rock/blues-jam band and Laniece just plain kicks ass. I've seen them a few times and like them more each time. They'll be at the Del Ray Ballroom (8th & R in the Haymarket) on Friday (Nov 21) from 9-Close. Hit their website for

David Landis and the Blue River Art Barn have played host to some excellent art shows this year. But it's time to close the barn for the winter and celebrate the passing season. So he's hired a great folk band and asked the artists from this past season to bring a couple of pieces back to show one more time. Among them will also be a display by Tom Hart and Daniel Long Soldier - New works of pen and ink, painting, photographs and sculpture inspired by the Native American culture. So please feel free to attend the celebration of the season and drink some beer, listen to music and kick around ideas for next season. Anyone wanting to display artwork or hold other events, come be heard. All ideas for using the space will not only be heard, but encouraged! Join us this Sunday, November 23, from 2pm until 5pm. A

Welcome to the world of Stuart Little, the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Little, a normal boy in every way, except for one thing -- he's a mouse! This delightful musical version of Stuart's adventures around New York City further enhances the charming story of a determined underdog trying to survive in a real people's world. From melodic ballads to exciting chorus numbers, the score by England's Ronna Frank features such delightful songs as "Paddle Your Own Canoe," "Feed Him Up," "Size," "Stuart Little," "I'm Headed in the Right Direction" and "Nighttime in New York" (sung by a quartet of cats!). Don't miss the opening production of our 2003-2004 Family Series, to be presented in the Oliver T. Joy Mainstage Theatre. Non-subscriber ticket prices: $10, all seats, all ages. SHOW
