Seussical: The Musical ::
(Catch director Jeremy Kendall and some cast members on the radio: Wednesday morning at 7:30 on my106.3!)
"After all those years
being stuck on a page,
Did you ever imagine you’d see me onstage?
Now I’m here, there is no telling what may ensue!
No, there’s no telling what!
But I’ll give you a clue..."
So says the mischievous Cat in the Hat at the onset of this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Once On This Island, Ragtime) have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville!
These classic, colorful tales are seamlessly brought together by Jojo, a young “thinker of strange and wonderful thinks”! As each story unfolds you will marvel at how relevant and profound Seuss’s subtle themes are, making this a musical that appeals to all ages.
The score emerges as a Seussian gumbo of musical styles, ranging from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk! So let your toes tap, your fingers snap, and your imagination run wild, for
"If you open your mind,
Oh, the thinks you will find
Lining up to get loose!
Oh, the thinks you can think!
Oh, the thinks you can think
When you think about Seuss!!"

6 Six Women with Brain Death... or Expiring Minds Want to Know ::
This zany and eccentric show
has achieved a cult-like following across the country and now the wave hits
Omaha for three weekends, July 16 - 31, 2004 (Fri-Sat at 8pm;
Sun at 2pm) at the Studio Theatre on the campus of Creighton University!
Don't miss six of Omaha's favorite (and fearless) females backed by a four-piece
band for this high energy and hilarious musical - a fast-paced, take-no-prisoners
satire of life and pop culture! Featuring: Mary Carrick, Teri Fender, Jennifer
Gilg, D. Laureen Pickle, Sara Planck, Diane Watson, directed by Daena Schweiger
with musical direction by D. Laureen Pickle and choreography by Robert Valenta.
Six Women with Brain Death is a wild and left-of-center view of the world from an entirely feminine standpoint that pokes fun at the insanities of modern life, including relationships, marriage, motherhood, sex, politics, religion and popular culture.
Through a series of bizarre yet hilarious songs and sketches, Six Women with Brain Death explores such "insanities" as TV soap operas, Lee Press-on Nails, Barbie and Ken's secret fantasy life, divas and femininity. There's even an unforgettable detour through a forest where Bambi meets Rambo. Songs include, "David, Don't Fly Lufthansa", "Prom Queen", "Divas at Motown", "God is An Alien" and more!
You won't want to miss the world premiere of the music video, " Toll Road " - a Brain Death special!
