An Artist’s Guide to a Long-Term Career: A Bemis Center Seminar
OMAHA, NE–
Gallery representation: It’s one of the single most important facets of an artist’s career. A professional gallery owner acts like both an agent and an advocate for the professional artist. Being featured in the right gallery is what gets an artist’s work into the public eye and helps the artist earn income as a working professional. But gallery representation is often the last thing on the mind of budding artists. For this reason, the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts is hosting the workshop Ready To Go Public? An Artist’s Guide to a Long-Term Career on Saturday, October 8, 2005, from 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m. This seminar is geared toward art students and young professional artists who want to learn the value of true gallery representation and how to develop a strategy that advances their own individual career goals. Find out how to navigate the art world labyrinth and discover how a successful gallery/artist relationship will represent, promote and benefit a long-term career. This special workshop will be led by established gallery owners and curators and provides the perfect opportunity for young artists to learn critical tips and pointers from art world insiders.
Ready To Go Public is FREE for Bemis Center Members and $7.00 for Non-Members. Space is limited to 20 participants, and the deadline to register is Friday, September 30th. Call Michele Frost at 402.341.7130 x 10 to reserve your space today.
