:: Art Crawl ::

The first Friday of every month means another chance to see some great art and bump elbows with an eclectic group of people. Most the local galleries host some sort of reception to show of the month's new show. This Friday, December 2nd is no exception. So hit any of your favorite galleries...if you've never done this before, give it a whirl...it's surprisingly fun and entertaining! Seriously, the atmosphere is electric and there's bound to be plenty of conversation worthy art and some great people watching to be had. Besides, most have some free hors d'ourves. All you do is stop a gallery you've heard good things about before/after dinner. You'll be glad you did.

Here are a couple of highlights this Friday...

Haydon Gallery 335 N 8th St
2nd Annual Juried Members Exhibition - Juried by Dan Siedell - Curator of the Sheldon Art Gallery. This show features local artists and art students. Including a piece by the lovely Miss Jen Lukas. Opening reception is from 6-9pm.

Tugboat Gallery
This is one of the coolest new galleries in town. They're located behind Gomez Art Supply (on O Street where the old Radio Shack used to be), you get in through the alley. This month Tugboat Gallery proudly presents Joey Lynch, co-director of Tugboat Gallery, with recent screenprints in an exhibition entitled “Trees N’ Text” starting December 2nd and running through December 31st. Jadon Ulrich will display an interactive installation in the emergency Room on December 2-3. Opening reception is from 7-10pm.

The bullies at school don’t hold a candle to the Herdmans – the worst kids in the history of the world, who lie, and steal, and smoke cigars. When the Herdmans decide they want to participate in the church’s annual holiday pageant, Christmas takes on a whole new meaning.
