:: jen lukas thesis show ::

jen's thesis show is made up of work from her 'little girl trapped inside' series. here's an excerpt from her thesis statement:

In this series of watercolors and videos I'm presenting for my thesis, I am conducting an internal dialogue. I've tried to get in touch with my scared and vulnerable inner-self and let her talk. The objective of this thesis work has been to set myself free and to encourage others to listen carefully to their inner voices and to work at expressing their beliefs.

Reception: Friday, April 21 ~ 5 - 7 pm
Show runs: Mon-Fri ~ noon-5pm
Richard's Hall Eisentrager-Howard Gallery Reception
(it's the building south of memorial stadium...the reception is in the big room up the stairs. you can't miss it!)

:: The Wheezetones ::

For the Wheezetones it is mostly about the harmony. Harmony as friends and harmony in the music. Three and four part harmonies are the norm on most songs. Song lists play toward the vocal strengths of each member in the band. Hollies, Byrds, Kinks, Mellencamp, Doobies, Who, Grass Roots, Beach Boys, Men At Work, Vogues, Eagles, Crosby Stills & Nash, C.C.R., Steve Miller, Moody Blues and much much more keep these guys having fun. And someone can usually be heard complaining about how a guy in his 50's shouldn't have to sing this high.

Friday, April 21st ~ 6:30-10:30 PM
Duggan's Pub ~ 11th & K, Lincoln, NE

:: Amadeus ::

"Amadeus" weaves a confrontation between mediocrity and genius into a tale of breathtaking dramatic power. Set in Vienna, in the court of the Austrian Emperor, Antonio Salieri is the established composer. Enter the greatest musical genius of all time: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Salieri has given himself to God so that he might realize his sole ambition to be a great composer. Mozart is a foul mouthed, graceless libertine who has achieved that which is beyond Salieri's grasp. Full of envy, hatred, and rage, the mediocre composer sets out to destroy this child who effortlessly hears the music of the spheres.

Winner of a Tony Award for Best Play, an Oscar for Best Movie. "A total iridescent triumph ... of complexity of thought, emotion and dramatic power." N.Y. Post.
