The lovely Julie Hagemeier has donated 2 pair of tickets for this weekend's performances of Omnium Gatherum. Reply to this email (matthew04@landisarts.com) to be entered in the drawing!
I attended the opening night of Local Wonders last week and LOVED IT! Yes, it's a two-person show starring my parents, but the show and their performances make that irrelevant. I don't think they've ever had a vehicle like this to show of their chemistry and talents like this. They are a sweet-natured and playful couple that alternate between singing and speaking about life in Nebraska. Ted Kooser's poetry is disarmingly profound and life affirming. There are only 2 more performances...don't miss your chance to see this true gem. The theater circles will be buzzing about this one for years.
I also went to the Complete Works last weekend and my cheeks are still tired from smiling and laughing so much. Truly one of the funniest plays I've ever seen. These guys are SO GOOD!!!!! PLEASE go see this show! Especially out at the Swan...it's such a great atmosphere for theatre. That alone is worth the price of admission. Check out their stellar review and the official blurb...

The Complete Works of Wllm Shakespeare (abridged) ::
This highly-entertaining, fast-action show forces 3 actors to pace themselves through 37 plays and 154 sonnets in just 2 acts. This runaway train of anything-goes humor is a mix of pratfialls, puns, willful misreadings of names and dialogue, clunky female impersonations, clean-cut ribaldry and broad burlesque.

:: Omnium Gatherum ::
The final main stage production is OMNIUM GATHERUM by Theresa Rebeck and Alexandra Gersten-Vassilaros, opening July 19. A piping hot slice of satire, OMNIUM GATHERUM is a lavish gourmet dinner party engineered by a dithery hostess, not unlike Martha Stewart, in a city not unlike New York, where a collection of peculiar souls gather to enjoy wit and incendiary conversation, spiced with chutney encrusted seared salmon (catered by Lincoln's own Chez Hay). Performances are July 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, August 1, 2, 3 at 7:30 PM, and July 30 at 2:00 PM in the Lied Cener's Johnny Carson Theater, 11th & Q in Lincoln.
