Looking for something to do this weekend?
Yikes...try choosing from 3 super shows!!
First up, is the show I'm in! :-)
The Lyp-Schtick improv group has taken up residence at Loft at the Mill.
On Thursday, they'll open their first-ever piece of staged theater: QUAZIMODO!
It's a 60-minute adaptation of the hunchback of Notre Dame story, but this one is for 18+
(for a couple of cuss words and adult situations). The Lyp-Schtickers have the main parts:
Shawn Carlson is Quaz, Shelly Greiss is Esmerelda and Beth Meuhling is the director.
The show is billed as a tragedy with jokes, and that's a perfect description.
At times is so funny you'll cry and at times so tragic you'll cry.
For more about the show/cast, hit the Ground Zero article from last Friday.
But, wait! There's more...
Quaz is only an hour, but for Act II, the cast (but mostly the pros) will do a 45-minute
improv show. Yes, that means that *I* will be participating in improv comedy...
which, in itself is kinda funny. But, I'm not afraid to make an ass of myself,
and everyone else is superfricking funny.
We only have 6 shows: this Thurs-Sunday (June 5-8) and next Thurs & Fri (June 12 & 13)!
All shows are at 8pm at the Loft at the Mill. Tickets are $15 ($10 for students).
Call 402.440.8902 for reservations.
What else is going on?
Two other great shows...Taming of the Shrew (Flatwater Shakespeare)
and Cabaret (LCP).
Bob Hall has a familiar cast of exceptional Lincoln talent on board for another show at the Swan Theatre.
It runs for 3 weekends.
While Vince Learned has a cast of dynamic (relative) newcomers to pump energy into his epic production
which runs for 4 weekends.
So get out and support live theatre, dammit!!!!!!
Spread love,
